For our second day trip around Salta we headed towards the south into the country’s white wine country. Unlike the previous day, this tour had fewer stops, but got us back to the hotel in a timely manner. The trip was relaxed and simple. We drove through the Quebrada (ravine) de Cafayate. We sampled wine at the Domingo Hermanos. We ate Torrentes flavored ice cream and sweet pastries along the way. When we weren’t feasting with our mouths, we feasted with our eyes. Fire colored mountain rock of all shapes, resembling a frog (el sapo), castles (los castillos) and windows (ventanas) were all along the path.
If you ask me what my favorite part of the entire day was, I’d have to give it to the meeting with the llama. Despite my dining experience a couple days prior, I was delighted to pose with the furry creature and not eat it. Ever since my uncle had a picture taken with one in Peru, I had always wanted one too. And I got it.
For the rest of this entry, I leave you with photos.
