day five: na pali coast sunset and sightsee cruise

Our 5th day on the island consisted first with a very unexciting move from the wonderful Palmwood Inn to the Marriott Resort in Lihue. Because it really isn’t worth mentioning, I’m going to skip talking about the construction right under our balcony / garden view room and get straight to the good stuff.

Check in time at Port Allen for our Na Pali Coast sunset and sightsee cruise was at 2pm. We arrived a little early and stumbled up the road into Hanapepe for a bite to eat before hitting the high seas. The tour included dinner, but neither of us thought we could wait that long and lunch is always a good idea. Anyhow, we departed for our cruise about 3pm and the skies we were not looking the friendliest for a sunset. That being said I didn’t capture any rainbows shooting over the majestic Na Pali coast. However, there were tons of whale sightings and I’ve never been whale watching before.

Overall the two of us were very pleased and we had an enjoyable time seeing the island from this perspective. I’d definitely love to go back when there are sunnier skies. I captured only a little in the photos above and the last one below. Hope you enjoy and ‘Aloha’ as always!
