The Palmwood Inn as seen around the road on our Easter morning walk.
There are only two notable things that took place on Easter Sunday during our stay in Kaua’i. (Possibly more, but I’m just not going to note them.) Because we expected Easter to be a bit quieter we kept our schedule to chill time at the beach and chill time at the Palmwood, where we were staying.
The Palmwood became our favorite place on the north shore of the island. Why so? My body felt like it was melting into a marshmallow every time I rested on the beds. They were that comfy. Eddie, our host, made the most incredible breakfast each morning. The amenities were extra awesome. I really enjoyed the movie theater built into the garage. We could have probably watched something a bit more sophisticated to match our environment, but I didn’t want to miss the Amazing Race.

We went to the beach early on Easter morning and our beach of choice was Secret Beach. It’s not really a secret anymore, but even so there weren’t many people there. The hike down to the beach can be a bit arduous depending how slick the mud on the steep trail is from the rain. It was actually pretty windy when we made it onto the sands and the big waves rolling in made sticking one’s toe into the water seem fairly risky. Naturally, this was a good beach to snap a couple of shots on and to tan away the winter skin.

Probably the single most mellow day we had during our entire stay.
